Dental Implant Costs

Dental implants come with a wide variety of options, from the size and shape used, to the number of implants needed. With such a large variety comes a range of costs, depending on a number of factors. When determining costs, our team at Excellent Dental Specialists customizes your plan specific to you. To ensure the best outcome, there are several clinical, surgical and lab considerations that are taken into account for each patient. Once your unique treatment plan has been outlined, our expert treatment coordinators will work with your insurance and explain final costs before we begin any treatment. We have several payment options available whether you have dental insurance or not. Keep in mind, the best way to determine the cost for your unique case is to simply schedule a consultation today!

Choosing to have your implant placed by someone with proven skills, education and training can determine the long-term success and reduce overall costs. In general, dental implants cost is similar to other treatments in restoring a tooth, that’s because the cost of a prosthetic remains the same. Additionally, the long-term costs are less, due to the restoration being permanent and it shouldn’t require much adjustment as time goes on.

Preparatory Steps for Implant Surgery

Some of the costs associated with dental implants are the preparatory steps taken before surgery. We do not want the patient to be suffering from chronic periodontitis, which is an active bacterial infection. We also may need to remove damaged, or unhealthy, teeth, and we often need to help the bone grow for added strength.

A common procedure for implant patients is a bone graft procedure. A bone graft is a simple surgical step that is done in our office. We open the tissue, expose the bone, and place added bone material. The spot is then sutured closed for healing. The soft tissue will heal within days following the bone graft, but the bone tissue takes several months to heal. By helping your bone bulk up, we are creating thicker bone to support the implant.

Implant Options

A dental implant is not a tooth; it is a metal rod that is surgically placed to be used as an anchor. Once that anchor is firmly attached, it can then be used with a wide variety of prosthetic options. When discussing your implants, we may consider both current needs, and future needs. An implant that is being used to anchor a dental crown today may be used as one side of a bridge or partial denture some day. Additionally, implants can be used to secure a full denture. We have options that are designed to eliminate the preparatory steps and surgically set your denture permanently in place.

The best option when considering dental implants is to schedule a consultation and ask how implants can alter and enhance your dental health. Our team at Excellent Dental Specialists can create a specific plan customized to you, your health and your budget.
