If you have missing teeth, you’re aware that more problems exist than living with a gapped smile. Even a single missing tooth can cause other teeth to shift, making it difficult to chew or embarrassing to speak. If you have multiple missing teeth or are suffering from a failing dentition, everyday activities like eating, smiling, or speaking seem almost impossible. You’re experiencing a loss of confidence and a decline in your health. Thinking about living with partial or full dentures makes you feel discouraged, not excited. Fortunately, we specialize in restoring the health, beauty, and function of your smile with lasting dental implants in San Antonio and New Braunfels, TX!

The Proven Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants in San Antonio, TX provide you with a permanent and life-like tooth replacement solution, whether you’ve already lost, or are about to lose, one or more of your teeth. They’re made up of biocompatible titanium posts surgically inserted into your natural jawbone that acts like natural tooth roots. We attach custom-made dental crowns, dental bridges, dentures, or a fixed bridge of teeth to these posts to permanently restore any number of missing teeth to full function, health, and beauty. Dental implants fully healed and restored provide long-term tooth stability and an over 99% return to dental function. They look and feel completely natural and no one will know you have dental implants instead of real teeth. You’ll notice a significant boost in your self-confidence, too, and an improvement in your oral and physical health. Dental implants have the power to transform your smile and restore your quality of life, which is why they require the skill and expertise of trained specialists.

Choose the Best Option for You

You’re probably aware that you have options when it comes to replacing your missing teeth. For a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth, you can choose a partial denture or a dental bridge. If you have an entire arch of failing or missing teeth, you can choose to wear removable dentures. However, these solutions can not only be loose and unreliable, they can cause harm to the surrounding teeth they use for support. Dental implants offer another source of support that even guarantees more restored function in the long-term.

If you already wear dentures, these can be secured with two or more dental implants with a solution called implant supported dentures. For patients with a full arch of failing or missing teeth looking for the most natural and life-like solution, we offer Trefoil™ and All-on-4® dental implants comprised of a denture or fixed bridge of teeth attached to three or more dental implants. We invite you to read through our transforming dental implants treatment process and about our pricing and financing options, so you know what to expect at our practice.

Our Smile Transformation Process

Phase One – Consultation

Dr. Kum talks about how much bone is needed to support an implant

Your consultation is the first step in your treatment process and is where we learn about your smile goals and expectations for treatment. With our Zirkonzahn® Face Hunter technology, we’ll take detailed 3D scans of your face to capture your unique physiognomy. We’ll use this data to precision-design your new tooth or set of teeth. Next, we’ll review your medical and dental history and complete an evaluation including diagnostics using our CBCT technology. This imaging technology creates incredibly detailed 3D images of your mouth. Using these scans, we can accurately assess the health and quality of your jawbone, which will determine if you’ll need bone grafts before surgery. If you’re receiving the All-on-4 dental implants treatment concept, the strategic way in which we place your implants in your jaw eliminates the need for bone grafting in most cases! Then, our specialists will create a precise surgical and restorative treatment plan based on your unique need, then custom make a surgical guide in our lab. We’ll even complete your surgery virtually, so there will be no surprises on the actual day you get your dental implants.

Phase Two – Surgery

Your surgical phase may involve bone grafting and tooth extractions, in addition to your dental implant placement. Depending on your case, our expert dental implant specialists may be able to complete these steps during a single surgical appointment. With the use of our guided surgical technology and sedation services, this surgery will be comfortable and minimally invasive. Due in part by our custom surgical guided and pre-planning, most of our surgeries have no major incisions or sutures, minimizing post-operative discomfort. In just a few hours, your dental implants will be placed and secure, and we’ll then be able to determine whether you can have a provisional attached. Generally, our patients can receive a tooth or teeth on the day of their surgery! This provisional will be made by our skilled lab technicians right in our own lab and provide function while you heal from surgery.
2

Phase Three – Restoration

You’ll need to heal for several months after your surgery. During this phase, the dental implant posts are fusing to your natural bone through a process called osseointegration. This is what makes dental implants so comparable to natural tooth roots and how they’ll both stimulate your jawbone and provide a sturdy foundation for a new tooth or set of teeth. The next step in your treatment process is the design and fabrication of your final restoration. Made right in our on-site dental lab equipped with design software and milling technology, we hand-craft and fabricate these restorations to be fully customized to look, feel, and function naturally. Not only does this maintain a superior level of quality and detail but it lets us perfect your final restoration while you’re in the office to ensure the best possible restorative outcome for you.

Permanent Teeth You Can Afford

Dental implants in San Antonio, TX and New Braunfels, TX are one of the best investments you can make in your smile, confidence, health, and overall quality of life. For this reason, it’s crucial that you choose a team of specialists who are both highly skilled and use the latest diagnostic and surgical technology. Choosing treatment based solely on how cheap it is will inevitably cost you in the end. Cheap dental implant pricing can often be directly related to the inexperience of the doctor and the poor quality of the materials. Combined, this can lead to disastrous results and a greater risk for serious problems, including dental implant failure. At Excellent Dental Specialists, rest assured that you’re receiving treatment from a team of specialists who has over four decades of combined experience in dental implants, having placed and restored thousands of implants with proven long-term success. We can virtually guarantee the same outcomes for you.
